The catching was slow today. It didn't matter what color or what pattern used. I ended up with 5 fish today .. 2 on glitter thread midges, 2 on the green zebra and 1 on a Wapsi smokey olive dubbed sow bug. The wind was almost non-stop with forecast gusts to 25mph. My cast actually landed right at my feet or even behind me more than once. Still .. better than not fishing. VA all day tomorrow so my next trip will probably be the one I'm taking with Jimmy next week.
I did see something just before I left the water. I was tying on tippet and had my back to the water. As I turned back I noticed movement on the water a few feet away from me. When I got clear of the sun's glare I saw a copper head of about 3' go swimming by. It slithered up on a bank and hid in some weeds on the river bank. Maybe I should call G&F and let them know and they could put some sort of sign out. Lots of families fish off that same bank and a bunch of folks .. both fly and spin fisher folk wet wade that area. Does anyone think it would be the thing to do?
