and had the usual great time. I take one every year the day before Sowbug. This year my usual partner David Bolin couldn't go so Donnie from the now closed Little Red Fly Shop went along. We covered a bunch of water and caught a bunch of fish. My first fish of the day on the second or third cast of the day was a beautiful cutt of about 13 or 14 inches. Jimmy got a picture of that so maybe he can post it later. I used a bunch of different midges from the Modern Midge book. The cutt I caught on a red Poison Tung that looks alot like a beaded red brassie. The best pattern for me was another from the book designed by Rick Takahashi. Kind of a silver/grey midge braid with a glass bead and a thorax of peacock ice dub. This could be fun in a few colors. I ended up missing a brookie for my grand slam. All the fish we caught were fat and beautifully colored. Donnie caught a bunch of fish and also learned a few pointers from Jimmy. What amazed me the most is that Donnie is almost as good a BS'er as Jimmy is. I always thought that Jimmy would be hard to top but Donnie stayed right with him. I'm already looking forward to next year.
