Ken and I are headed out in the drift boat tomorrow morning. Then a guide trip Sunday. Hopefully the weather will hold and there wil be some good fishing.
Watch out for the crazy people.

Especially the ones in the white Hyde drift boat. It has a black/blue stripe. They will run over you and hit you with the oars.

What a nice trip. Ask Ken to tell you about the raft lady and the paddle boaters......ROFL.

Sounds exciting. Thought about heading up there for a few hours in the morning, but only for a moment. Figured it'd be a madhouse.

Zach, I saw those two kids in the paddle boat below the bath house with a smaller kid trying to keep up in a small raft. Wonder what in the world their
parents were thinking. Thought I saw your subaru parked at the dam with a trailer on it Sunday???

Did you see the rather healthy gal in the raft with the outboard strapped to it? I have never seen a raft ride that low.
I was guiding Sunday. Had a few guys in from Pennsylvania. Borrowed Ken's drift boat. You must have come in after we had already left. It was nice not having a release till around 3pm. Zack Hoyt

Fished Friday and Sunday. Had Zach rowing me on Friday. Need big flag with "Student Driver" for the boat. Lost several fish, could not keep them
hooked up.
Sunday Zach had my boat and I waded at the turn around. Wih Table Rock up, There is not an easy way to cross the river. Had to do the ballerina dance to get across without getting wet. First two fish came unhooked and I thought here it goes again. But then settled down and caught 4 limits of fish on 4 flies. All fish were caught in 50 yard stretch. Get 5 fish then switch flies. Best fly was #18 copper john. quickest 5 fish. Used also black/silver midge, white scud and gray bead head scud. Zach didn't even say hello when he passed me, but did notice old man taking pictures as the floated by. They had their lunch not 30 yards away from me. Wanted to ask what kind of boat it was. Heard him telling lies about me as they got close.

I heard "lunch" is a big part of Zach's guiding trips. One hour fishing and a three hour lunch. Ken, you need a bronze statue of yourself on
the front of that boat to remind those who borrow it where it came from. I think I saw Zach trying to trade your boat for two paddle boats, a Wal-Mart raft
and a ham sandwich.

Ken, you're dead on accurate when you say you need to tip-toe to get across the river. I went out last Monday and started at Parker and went upstream from
there. I somehow found my way across in the fog, then picked my way upstream all the way to the gravel bar. Either I have a hole in my waders or I let a little
water in the backside at some point, either way I regretted not having my wading staff with me (or my net for the 16" rainbow I landed.)
Anytime you're unavailable to act as a "client" for Zach's student-rowing lessons, just give me a shout. Between my crazy casting and his rowing, we should be a sight to see, and I'm sure he'll get more experience out of me than he really cares to have! And oh, by the way, I like lunch, too, so as long as he's cooking I'll offer my surrogate client services for free! jb |

Ken is getting paranoid in old age :-).
My wife, dog Maddy and another couple floated the tailwater from the dam to Houseman Sunday evening. It was a great float. There are numerous wood ducks with clutches at the moment. We also saw deer, beaver, and mink along with the usual sightings of birds. There were only two other boats out. It was a great float.

Easy Cheese and Ritz. Wonder how that compares to Zach's lunch?

Scott I was setting at the Dam store talking to Bryce when you drove by.......and then drove by again. ;) It was a very nice day, no doubt. We got to see a
small group of does, a mink, and a few beavers and of course the typical birds. Water held out well for fishing.....but PADDLING from Parker to Bertrand with
the wind in your face to a little effort.
Edit: Ryan, we had stale bread and warm water. Zack Hoyt

Just as I figured. You need to have Ken stop helping you work on the rowing and have him teach you streamside cooking!

Scott, where do you tie the hook so the cracker doesn't break? Fish them under an indicator?

Started to tell Zach it would cost him a cookie to pass through my water. But he was shaking so bad from nervousness I did not have the heart.
Scott - I am not paranoid, people are out to get me. Tre - I have a policy of If you break it you buy it. So if he would have traded it I would get new boat!

Ken, I posted this under Real Recovery in the General Discussions...but we got you another 500.00 from a local business up here. The office has sent it your
way. See the post. I told them about you and your float and they graciously gave to the cause.
