I was able to settle into a deep hole with a lot of fish stocked up. I had someone to the left and right of me about 20 feet away, which gave me about 40 ft of drift, after catching a few fish the room i had narrowed substantially!! I walked down stream and found another shady spot to fish, when 3 good ole boys walk down and proceed to fish from the other side of the shore, casting towards my feet, i again left.
NOW i wanted to fish this one particular hole that i normally do quite well in and waited for the three guys to finish. I stood quite a ways down shore to give them room and waited while taking a break. They appeared to leave so i walked down and proceeded to fish when one of them started throwing his rooster tail 5 feet to my right so i moved up about 10 feet to allow room, when all of a sudden he cast upstream of me and hooked my boot!!! He apologized and said he wasnt good at casting, so i got it out and her reeled in. About 5 more casts and he hits me in the head with his rooster tail!!! Needless to say i was P#ssed off. I asked if i had done anything wrong and proceeded to go off on them. Now when i walked up there were sitting on the shore talking about eating lunch and heading out of the stream.
I have never had anyone attempt to hook me on purpose and if he had hooked my waders i think he would have been floating down stream! I dont think i will attempt to fish on the weekends anymore. I hope to be able to get to a real trout stream one of these days, when i can enjoy the peace and quietness of an official trout stream!!!!
