A likely story, Ken...why not just tell the truth, like I did?

"While fishing..." with a heavily weighted stone fly and nymph dropper in a raging current which was so swift I couldn't wade much past 2-3 feet out from the inner bank of the bend, my rig got hung up on the bottom. "...I went to lift my line to cast at the end of a drift, and found my rig had become hung up...." I tried to apply some pressure to the line and then cast the line out past it, like a certain guide showed me on a smallmouth float fishing trip on the Kings River, but I guess I must have put too much pressure on the rod, because "...when I lifted the rod tip, I heard the sickening splintering of high modulus graphite and the top half of the rod sank to my feet..." causing me to cuss profusely and dang near throw the entire thing into the raging current.

Notice the important parts, which are the ones I put on my warranty card "While fishing I went to lift my line to cast at the end of a drift, and found my rig had become hung up. When I lifted the rod tip, I heard the sickening splintering of high modulus graphite and the top half of the rod sank to my feet." Come to think of it, you might want to edit your story for clarity as well! Those guys in warranty repair have nearly no sense of humor!

Sage did fix my rod, no questions asked. And Cabela's sent me a new LST 8 weight as well, for the one I broke the next day. I swear, I wasn't abusing the rods...
