I was up this past week-end but alas it involved mostly work. A retired missionary in our church wanted to help us out by putting a metal roof on the garage next to our house near Norfork. We want to turn it into a bunkhouse. We left after church on Wednesday night and got in Thursday morning about 4 a.m. We rested a couple of hours and then got to work. We put in 12 hours Thursday and finished up by noon on Friday. Jack was the ground man as well as chef. Jack had a couple of small projects at his house so while Charles helped him I mowed grass.
They got done about 3 p.m. and since Charles had never been on the River we put in at Red's Landing and went up river. The water was high and off color from the rain. We were spin fishing with the Thomas Boyant spoon and caught two fish. Jack nailed a nice smallie and I got a dink bow. We were on the water about 2 hrs. Had supper at Jack's Friday evening and on the way back to Norfork stopped by the dam. Not one car in the parking lot! Two people fishing as far as the eye could see. I had considered going here instead of the White but figured it would be too crowded as the water had been off. Oh well.
Charles and I got up early Saturday and headed home. Hope to be back the end of May or first of June.
