howdy Steve. Got a question for you.
Have had discussions with some of the old guides about SNAILS on the white river and how over the years they have moved up stream. I too have noticed this over my 8 years of guiding on this river. Don't know a thing about snails except that the fish will eat them in the late summer and fall. When I clean them they will be full of them.
Seems like a slow creep up stream with them. Have not yet observed them actually eating them or mabey I am assuming they are eating sow bugs or scud. Coon tail moss also seems to follow behind them. We're speaking a long time frame here with a spurt that coencides (sic) with the 5 year low water pattern.
Does any of this info make any sense to you?????? or is this normal for a river that has been damed up for 50 years??? Is this a sign of healthy water??? or what.
JimmyT.
