Hey Guys,
I know that there are a few environmental groups that have addressed the chicken waste issue in regards to the watersheds in NW Arkansas. Evidently they are trying to make the BUYERS of the chicken responsible for the clean-up of the chicken crap in some fashion. My understanding is that it will be a very indirect. Something like buying from farmers that adequately dispose of chicken run off. The problem is that the farmers that raise the chicken can't afford to re-do their waste control management program, i.e. a couple of shovels converted to manure holds and collection devices. I think the idea is to prevent runoff for an area something like 10-20 miles from a major watershed. Just what I have heard.
Hey Jimmy, got any good snail patterns? I always used a #14 scud hook with a bit of lead wrap, dubbed with hares ear and ribbed with peacock hearl. This pattern is tapered to look like the shape of the snail. It had always picked up a few good fish at Rim.
