Our low oxygen levels this winter are related to the high water we had over the summer. As the lake filled it flooded areas that introduced vegetable matter into the water shed. This material settles to the bottom of the lake and decomposes. The decomposition process takes a considerable amount of oxygen. When I fished the C&R area in October it was all but devoid of life.

After losing many of our fish to high water temps in the summer over the last few years, it would appear that we have now lost a sizeable portion of our spawn to low oxygen levels. :(
