It can be entertaining to watch a good guide take a supreme through Wildcat Shoals on low water. I wade pretty far down most days and you can hear them coming. You hear those that don't know the river more than the ones who do. The ones who don't know it take a straight line down the middle. Those that know it, will work their way back and forth to the best channels. It's hard to tell the difference between those that will be easy and those that you just can't make. When the boats get down to where I'm fishing, generally I recognize those that did it right. Those that had trouble, I've never seen before.

Jimmy T used the men vs. boys comparison. I think it's local guides vs. non-local guides. There be some men in that last bunch, they just don't know the shoal and they pay for an inch or two shaved off their prop. You can also tell the good ones from where they stop to fish!
