Last year the lake behind the house was down around 12 to 13 feet; Lake Whitney 30 miles from here was down 17, all with lots of die-off. This year it's rained more, but everybody is edgy because of all of the talk and history. Texas is a desert with brief periods of rain; in my life, we have been fortunate, but you don't know what happens tomorrow. The same can be said for anywhere.

Our place in West Texas is true desert with no water unless you drill to irrigate, which we don't. If we don't take care, there can easily be desertification anywhere. Desert spreads.

You all will get more rain than us, but they will have to handle the lakes right. If those are Corp controlled, they aren't known for smart in my opinion. Dropping lake levels going into summer doesnn't make sense to me.
