John.
My belief is that if the lakes are low then DO issues will be a serious issue, not to mention high water temperatures when water is released, due to the lake turnover forcing warm water to the lower levels at the draw off level.
I have seen temps at BSD at 69f in the early 20s when we had those low water years and the fish were hurting. That also stopped stocking at the time.
What l do not understand is why the COE chose to pull lake levels down as much as they did this year, was it due to a assumption that we were likely in for heavy rain falls again in the spring, who knows. May be to accommodate the rice farmers, who knows, or the fear of having to deal with another flood issue, who knows.

Some of us will remember seeing the lake levels way lower than they are now, and they may get there again. We would need a considerable amount of rain fall to change the situation, a inch or so now and again is about worthless.

Either way its not looking good
