I've fished the White River basin since 1980 and visited my Grandfather who lived in the Mountains around Harrison since about 1968. The floods in about 1982 were on the heels of a drought in about 1980. There are cycles that last for several years of both heavy rain and drought. We've had nearly 10 years of heavy rainfall. It makes sense that we are about to enter into a period of drought, high temperatures, and low water. I just hope that we manage it accordingly. AGFC needs to pay attention to water temperatures and plan to have a reserve coming into summer months. The big thing is to "use" the allocation they have. We have not had to use that water in a long long time. I just hope that our management is prepared to do so because it looks inevitable that it is going to be required.

The good news is we should have good oxygen levels through the fall and winter months out of the lakes. While we will have some significant algae blooms, we wont have all the debris of heavy rains.
