I agree with John so far as line profile, forget lines that have long tapers, regardless if they be dry, intermediate, sink tips of full sunk lines, so long as you add further the right leader configuration you will have no issues casting larger lures.
Line tangle and twist are to some extent two different issues.
Line twist is mainly the result of causing the fly line to twist during the casting stroke, rotating the rod being the main cause. The type of fly used may also, but not often. There are a couple of ways to deal with this.

Either allow the line to track way downstream or rotate the rod and line above your head in the opposite direction to the twist. In other words you are forming a circle with the fly line, its possible to do this with 30 to 40ft of line.

Tangles are the result of how stripped line is stacked, granted wind can be a issue here also.
Most anglers if the truth be known have way more line on the deck than they need, also line dancing, which means shifting foot position to release stood on line which has been stripped in or tangled around your feet or other objects.
Standing on your fly line is not good, it can seriously damage and shorten the life of your fly line as will a dirty boat deck, each time you cast sand and dirt is picked up by the wet coils and ends up rasping through the guides, which can also be worn.
My deal is to have on the boat deck a clean towel that l lay my line on, if wind is a issue then wet it which will stop it flying around, mats are also good for the same purpose.
Studded boots are a no, no if you care for your fly lines long term life.
