There is easy access below Dam 3.   It was filled with bait fishermen near the dam, but was pretty deserted downstream for several hundred yards.  There is a fisherman's trail on river-left that will take you to, what I assume is, a canoe launch. The river bottom is soft and filled with plant life, which makes wading a bit of a chore.  I'd recommend crossing over to river right and walking the banks.  I did not fish this area much because I was in a kickboat and eager to fish the next island downstream.  However, there were slots of deeper water between the weeds and structure that I spooked fish out of as I rowed past.  The local shop recommended egg patterns earlier this winter, which I am ashamed to say worked rather well.
