I guess nature happens......I catch a tiny rainbows on the Current and Meramec sometimes, though I've never caught a brown that small in MO though.
FWIW, MDC usually clips one of the pelvic fins, or the adiopose fin on almost all the brown trout that they stock.They clip a different fin on each year class and the biologist use the data to track growth rates when they make thier sampling runs in the fall. If you catch a nice one, look for a missing or stunted fin and the biologists can give you a good estimate of how long its been in the river. Cheers.
