Thanks everyone for the patterns ideas!
I was planning on tying up a bunch of Trout Crack and various other scuds, but I'll also try the egg patterns and some mid-weighted tungsten bead San Juan Worms.
I've never tried Trout Crack, but seeing all of y'all sing it's praises, it must be a killer pattern! So, I'll also follow John's advise about including some oversized Crack.
As far as the catfish ponds go, with an (almost) 6 year old, I know that he will want to "keep" some fish and that his attention span is such that a little "variety" cann't hurt.
Well, now to start tying!
