Black or sliver-ribbbed black Zebra Midges, gray or tan scuds, and maroon, red, and pink San Jaun Worms; and some small tungsten beaded nymphs.

Also, be sure to bring #18 Griffth's Gnats for the gulpers.

Fish the ENTIRE creek, not just the "popular" areas. While many areas are almost never fished, the popular areas get "pounded". Be sure to fish the falls on the the south side of the road. Be aware that like all creeks/rivers the character of this creek changes. From August to October, many of my kids favorite holes were filled with gravel and wading/fishing opportunities occurred in "newer" areas.

Bring an over-sized sized, quality net with a soft synthetic or cotton bag. They will NOT be able to corral that "once in a lifetime" monster in a standard trout net! If he doesn't have a good "larger net', then purchase or borrow one. It will be money well spent! (My son has caught fish well over 12# and I've see a 35 in. brown landed on the Creek... You can't land fish of those sizes in a little net!)

Bring a camera and while his son fishes, fill the camera's memory chip with photos. SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT!!! Before the trip, spend time on his knees, play with flash, get a few lessons, and learn to utilize all the camera's settings, so that with a little luck, they may end up with a few photes to last their lives.
