I was on the river on Friday and Sunday. Shortly after the bad weather moved in on Friday, we noticed the runoff barreling down the south bank of the river. We fished until shortly after dark even though it was raining so hard you could see a thing anyway. By the time we got to Rose's the entire river was a complete mess. One key takeway from the weekend: although lightning might not kill you, standing in a river when lightning strikes close enough to send a jolt up both legs is one thing I don't care to experience again. My hair hasn't turned white yet and I appear to ok mentally (well, in relative terms anyway). What was crazy is that my friend was looking at the water when I got zapped and he saw ton of fish boil the surface right when the lightning hit. Oh yeah, and fishing with about twenty tornado warnings in the surrounding area is probably not a great idea either...just a thought. It was still a great weekend though.
