Posts: 1274 05/02/09 19:53:33	Tags : None I'm putting together a bass outfit. What line is going to give me better all around performance? Cutting through the wind, turning big flies, low memory, you know the features. SA Mastery Bass WF8F, Wullf TT8F, or Sharkskin GPX WF8F, or something else. I have a Reddington CPS 9084 rod. Thanks for your input. Chuck A secret fly is never more valuable than when you leave it with a stranger.

I really became a believer over the last month throwing lead eyed clousers in insane winds chasing the whites. Posts: 7979 05/02/09 20:34:29 ezOP	If you want to poor-boy a bass line just cut the first 5 feet off of a standard taper line. Use a heavy leader or a butt section at the end.

Posts: 20 05/04/09 06:16:06	another cheaper option is the sci. ang headstart line. i was told by a fly shop employee that it is basically the same taper as s.a.'s bass line and the headstart series has the same coating as their more expensive lines. runs about $40 i think.

Posts: 357 05/04/09 09:17:23	What JW said. I have a bunch of old tapper leaders that have been shorten to about 6'. Works great for throwing bigger streamers and poppers. Go to a heavier wieght rod or you'll have a hard time turning the big bass and you lose alot of fish in nearby structure. Love fishing lake coves in the spring from my little FishCat.
