I was given the news to day that Ed Storey passed away last night, Ed was the owner of Feathercraft. I would suspect many of you would have brought product from this company. They provided a great service and product range his customer base around the world. Ed, established over the years a mail order business that l doubt few in the fly fishing trade will ever come close to, aside from the big boys like BP and Cabelas. He will be missed. Davy.

Never met him, but know that his reputation and Feather-Craft were/are well respected... Sad news indeed....

Ed Storey passed away last night, Ed was the owner of Feathercraft.I didn't know him, but he really had a customer oriented business with great public relations and service, not to mention quite an inventory. I always enjoy buying from him. How old was he, and as mentioned, what happened to him? Thanks! Ray |

I believe Ed had a couple of heart attacks earlier this year. My current understanding is that he really never recovered from those attacks and the resulting treatments. Mel |

Sorry to hear about Ed Story's passing. Heart goes out to Bob and the rest of the family, as well as the crew at the shop.
Ted Lammert is fine, saw him in the shop a week ago Saturday when I was in St. L. Thanks for posting the news Davy.

Ed had some heart issues early on in the year and had quadruple bypass surgery. He had a hard time recovering with his vertigo, blood issues, and recent
surgery and high colesterol. He always tried to make it in and would call to see how things were going and you could tell he was anxious to get back in the
store. Needless to say, all the recent set backs and health issues just added up and it was just time. Great guy, learned a lot from him and respected him
greatly and was happy to work with him a little over 4 years.

Sad News...Ed will be missed.
Ed's son Bob has been managing the operation for a several years and the business employs around 15 people between the retail store and catalog operation. I'm sure that Bob, Ted, and the rest of the Feather-crafters will continue to do an excellend job in Ed's absence. |

In addition to being a character who's catalogues were always a delight , Ed was a great promoter of fly fishing and a good friend to the Federation of Fly
Fishers. While over the years I only had the opportunity to occasional talk with him over the phone, like a great many others, I held him in high regard. He
will be missed.

I hate to hear this. What a great guy. Always more than helpful when speaking with him on the phone. He helped me get my father into flyfishing.
