Had decided to put the boat in and fish the Norfork down from the dam but, when I got to the campground found out the boat ramp was closed as they were paving the "new" parking lot. When given lemons make lemon aid. Put in at the confluence and went up past the bridge and started drifting. Got into fish immediately. Wind starts blowing me up river that pretty much ended that. Can't drift? Get out and wade. Got his guy my second cast. Couple of more bumps more wind let's...

Hello everyone!! How is life down in Arkansas? I can't wait to get back down there again!!

Moose, how the heck are you buddy? Sorry I haven't been around. Been a rough year. We lost the baby, got married and are expecting again!! Girl or boy, I am sure it will be a fisherman!! We are thinking about planning another trip back down. I am guessing it won't be much fun down there till Spring??

Water levels

The Lake has risen 3 ft since yesterday and at 10 am they shut the generators off. I havn't looked at the water levels downstream but I would imagine theey are in flood stage. I would anticipate 0-2 unit generation for awhile as water levels recede.

Waders should take advantage of the conditions. The Dam are will close on Sunday Nov 1st.

Channel 33 showed flood gates open at table rock this am, so BS will be on the rise and all will trickle down stream.

Need some help finding a cabin to rent on the river. I have 8 to 10 friends traveling down from across the country for a week of fishing and we need a place to stay. Does anyone have a cabin for rent or can you give some advise on some rental properties. We would like to have access to the river if possible. Thanks in advance.

heading down to the white tomorrow to fish in the rain Thursday afternoon and Friday and Saturday.

Do you guys have any suggestions for fishing in the rain? Not many hatches I would imagine. What would be the go to plan?

Fly suggestions for next week

Guys:

I am heading down to the white next Thursday through Saturday and am looking for some advice for fly patterns. I was thinking zebra midge black or red with scuds. Any other suggestions and possibly sizes that would be the most effective. Wil be fishing near the dam in the catch and release area.

After almost 2 years, we finally made it back up to God's country this past weekend. We ended up having a wonderful trip. Got there Friday evening and fished at Rim for a couple hours. Water Release Predictions

What do you guys think they'll do with the water now? Coming out of this rain we have the following:
- BD still below top of power pool
- TRD up about a foot, now at 916.15
- BSD up about 1.25 feet, now at 655.56
- ND up about 1.5 feet, now over 3 feet into flood pool

It took us a while to get them down, I have no idea how they'll handle it. Looks like those windows on the Norfork may be over. They are predicting two units on at 2 today and running...

smokin day at Bull Shoals Dam

ok - so its probably not in my interest to do this but every one here has been GREAT with sharing information with me so here goes. We fished BSD today. It was pissing rain and the wind would bounce off that dam and blow your cast all to hell. I fished the "downwind" position in a two person boat and took one in the face and one in the neck from a person who is a VERY careful fisherman (oh - fisher-person. I stand corrected there.)

Rim Shoals Question

Have not fished this yet but really want to, I hear a lot of talk about how hard it is to cross at the upper riffle, but also have read about a trail that takes you on down stream. If you follow this down, are there safer places to cross? If so how far of a walk ect? I drove to the walk-in access, and watched some one cross, and see why it can be a tough wade. Just want a little more info before I venture out on my own.

was hot today! Got out about daylight and fished down to begin with and it was a little slow. Moved up and it was great. I'm guessin at about 40. One brown (usually get more), one cutt and the rest bows. Noting too big but most were decent fish. You hardly ever catch recent stockers up. Started off with the wooly and if I had stayed with it the numbers would have been a lot higher but I am trying to expand my horizons. Got some on the SJW, midges, sowbugs, etc.

I took a trip with Jimmy T yesterday. Great day .. a bunch of laughs, fun and some excellent fishing and catching. Jimmy got the big brown of the day at about 22".
