Hey guys,

Sorry for the lack of reports....been on the water a TON--and still wading through photos! :goodjob:

Fishing has been sickening guys. We recently had a bout with high water and since that water has been dropping fishing has been great!

All the usual suspects as far as flies go, but with some big nasty streamer action thrown into the mix too.

Blair Access Makeover

Hey all,

Just thought I would let you know that the Blair Bridge Public Access is getting a makeover. The road is closed at the top but the uppermost parking lot is still open for those who will carry their canoes or kayaks up that far from the river so that also means that drift boats and jon boats (anything requiring a trailer) are a no go for putting in or taking out at the access. I got a psycho prince from Myron at ROLF. 2 casts with it produced 2 fish, then a third cast produced a big bite and short hard run then the fly busted off! I caught about half a dozen nice fish the rest of the day mainly on a rubber leg stone and large PT. I tried lots of flies but nothing produced like the psycho prince. Would you mind sharing the recipe? Thanks, Shaun.

After a night of rain Friday night/early Saturday morning I met my guys at their cabin and we talked a little about what the water may do. Everything was great so we decided to hit it. This was NOT a beautiful Spring day, temps started out in the mid 40's and dropped out quickly...add a cold rain and some pretty strong winds to that it you could say it was fairly brutal.

Our Troutfest 2009 adventure is coming to the North Fork next weekend. We are staying at Sunburst Ranch and have 5-6 guys looking forward to a good time. Before starting a crazy month of guiding coming up in March I had the opportunity to fish with a buddy. Matt Tucker came down from St. Louis after I sent him several emails about the incredibly nice water that we have now. It had also been a while since either one of us really had the opportunity to shoot some on-stream photos besides regular fish photos.

We started the day by putting the drift boat in at the dirt (read MUD) "ramp" at Kelly Ford which is always a fun...

With the temperatures hitting 70+ today (February 7) I thought it was time to take a look at what to expect for spring fishing on the North Fork of the White River.

As most of us remember last year epic floods moved through the area and at one point an Ark was handling the river better than my drift boat. All we can do is hope that this year those floods don't have as much of an impact as they did last year.

I just started trying to fly fish and of course not had any luck. I have gone out below Beaver Dam twice now. What advise do you have for a newbie to actually catch a trout? What other rivers are good trout rivers close to the Rogers area?

Stupid Question

I know the old saying, "the only stpuid question is the one that goes unasked" or something like that, however I feel like I am asking a stupid question here. Where the heck is the North Fork of The White River? Reason I feel stupid is, I spent 5 years at Tech in Russellville and actually lived there 6 years and I have been fishing the White, Norfork and Little Red since the early 80's.

Hey guys,

Was able to hit the river on the 7th. It was my first 'real' fishing trip of the year. The day set up perfect for good fishing, complete cloud cover and the water was a gorgeous green...and the fish cooperated! Had a great few hours of fishing. Caught some browns, caught some rainbows but got into a nice rainbow that was one acrobatic fish.

Geez, been neglecting the forum...sorry guys.

The rise we had from last weekend made fishing tough on Monday but we did stick a 17" brown to save the day. Right now the water is crazy sexy.

Not sure what this water will do for or to the spawn but we are hoping for the best.
